　　William Martin Joel[3] (born May 9, 1949) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. Leading a successful career as a solo artist, he has sold over 150 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time[4] as well as the sixth best-selling recording artist and the third best-selling solo artist in the United States.[5] His 1985 compilation album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & 2, is one of the best-selling albums in the US.[6].
